Lisa & Joe.
How we transported wedding guests back to Lisa & Joe's celebration in Italy, inside the Immigration Museum.
Lisa and Joe had already said their vows in Italy. Their Melbourne reception wasn't about recreating that day — it was about bringing everyone who couldn't be there into it. The couple wanted a room that felt elegant, warm and unmistakably theirs, inside one of the city's most beautiful heritage spaces.
The Ask
The Immigration Museum is a striking room, but a demanding one. Anything we brought in had to feel like it belonged — no black boxes, no exposed rigging, nothing that read as "production" against the architecture. The couple wanted a clean, refined aesthetic, entertainment that filled the room beautifully, and a way to share the Italian wedding with their guests that felt like an experience rather than a video playing on a screen.
What We Delivered
Every element was specified in white and styled to disappear into the room. White lighting fixtures and white truss were dressed in drape to become elegant styled pillars, so the structure holding the event together looked like part of the design rather than equipment. A white PA system was integrated just as carefully, delivering clean, full sound across a varied entertainment program from Mike Snell Entertainment without a single black speaker breaking the look.
The centrepiece was the storytelling. The couple's videographers had captured cinematic footage of their Italian wedding, which we reframed to sit perfectly within the framed artworks on the walls, then projected across both side walls of the room. As the evening unfolded, guests found themselves surrounded by Italy — the ceremony, the landscape, the day they'd missed — brought into the room around them.
The Result
A reception that did far more than look beautiful. Guests were transported back to Lisa and Joe's wedding in Italy, sharing a day they hadn't been part of — an emotional, immersive experience wrapped inside a flawlessly styled room where none of the craft ever showed. An incredible outcome for the couple, and exactly what AV styling is for.
